I practice from two different modalities: Reality Therapy and Insight Therapy. Reality Therapy (Choice-Centered approach) helps the patient determine how effective their behaviors have been in fulfilling their needs and then works with the patient to determine a plan for more effective actions. Insight Therapy encourages empowerment of the individual which implies personal responsibility for one’s behavior. I specialize in working with patients needing assistance with Anger Management, Marital/Premarital Counseling, Individual/Adolescent Counseling, Loss & Bereavement Recovery, Sexual Addiction/Recovery, Personal Growth & Enrichment, and Divorce Healing. I also possess knowledge in understanding acute mental illness symptoms from my training at Riverside Psyciatric Hospital.
Education- PhD from Graduate Pacifica Institute in Depth Psychology: emphasis in enriching the understanding of mind, body, unconscious & dreams at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Depth Psychology: emphasis in enriching the understanding of mind, body, unconscious & dreams. I am passionate about working with individuals/families struggling with emotional stability. My hope is to assist my clients on their journey, facilitating deeper relationships through healthy communication patterns, whether individually or with a spouse or even the whole family. I provide a safe and compassionate therapeutic environment for my clients to develop greater self awareness.
My approach is eclectic with a foundation in Structural Family Therapy (SFT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). SFT addresses patterns of interaction that create problems within families, and restructures the family unit to a more functional state. CBT challenges an individual's thought patterns in relation to emotions and behavior.
I have 20 years' experience working with children, adolescents and their families. I have worked with engaged couples over the past 10 years utilizing Prepare/Enrich curriculum. I specialize in anxiety, mood disorders, anger management, substance abuse, ADHD, adolescents and premarital/marital counseling, to name a few.

My Therapeutic Approach...
While the thought of therapy can be daunting to some, it can also have the potential to be a safe place for growth or healing. Allow me to be a guide by providing psychotherapy tools, techniques and interventions to walk with you in this chapter of your life. My approach to therapy is to listen and create a judgement free space for you to challenge yourself. I utilize a Coginitve Behavioral approach to aid in ones emotional regulation. Life can present challenges, but facing those challenges has the potential to lead to hope and growth. You don't have to face such stressors alone. If you have to start somewhere, I hope it is here.
The last few years I have dedicated my time to working within the school district.
